The president of National Metrology Center of Iran (NMCI), Dr. Khosrow Madanipour, gave a speech at Iran Society of Packaging Science and Technology’s (ISPST) first conference. After giving a summary about the Institute of Standardization and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) and the National Metrology Center of Iran (NMCI) and its duties, he pointed out the necessity of legal supervision by introducing international and national standards regarding metrological control of prepackaged products. He then gave a statistics of controls performed by NMCI on prepackaged products and of the errors resulting from not abiding the standards. Based on those, he asked producers and all parties involved in prepackaging to abide national standards regarding quantity value of prepackaged products, to preserve consumers’ rights and to avoid overselling.
This international conference was held by ISPST on December 16 and 17, at Tehran International Permanent Fairground.
